Two Indian students found dead in US

Two Indian students, Gattu Dinesh (22) from Telangana and Nikesh (21) from Andhra Pradesh, were discovered dead in their apartment room in Hartford, Connecticut, on Sunday morning. The students, pursuing Masters in Computer Sciences at the University of Sacred Heart, arrived in the US on December 28, 2023.

While the immediate cause of death is uncertain, the police suspect carbon monoxide poisoning due to excessive heater use in response to extreme cold in the region.

Dinesh's family received information from Connecticut police about the students being found lifeless in their room on Sunday morning. Friends attempted to wake them up without success, prompting them to notify the police. The exact cause of death is unknown untill autopsy reports are out. Wanaparthy MLA Tudi Megha Reddy assured the family that efforts would be made to bring Dinesh's body back to India promptly.
